
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jameson; September 2nd, 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actress and film producer. In Mexico she started her career by playing the character of Teresa in the telenovela (1989-1991) and El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she was nominated for an Ariel Award. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood with roles in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002), which she also co-produced, made her the first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Later on, Hayek focused more on making films, while also starring in action-oriented films such as Once Upon a Time in Mexico
